The loaner program was established to help ensure that infants and young children with newly identified hearing loss receive intervention in a timely manner. We provide temporary amplification to give families time to adjust, assess and make arrangements for permanent hearing aids or await medical intervention. Most importantly, it gives children immediate access to the acoustic information important for acquiring spoken language. A typical loan period is approximately 6 months. Our program is funded through the Minnesota Department of Health and we rely on our relationships with several manufacturers to continue serving our community.
